While starting this blog, I wanted some photos taken to showcase the idea behind it. Brunch & Brows, two of my favorite things. So, I teamed up with Ashlee Kristin Photography, & we hit Brown Butter Creperie & Cafe.
Starting out as a food truck in 2015, they have since opened this adorable, French style Cafe, located in the heart of Eastown inside a Historic Windmill building. Catering options are still available, & their food truck continues to serve different events!
Now, I have to be honest, the first time I went I was right in the middle of a ten day detox, & was not able to indulge in any of the mouth watering crepes. It was TORTURE. However, I took the opportunity to return after a week & a half of flavor abstinence & relapse. Their menu consists of a variety of sweet & savory crepes, leige waffles, a full espresso bar, paninis, & salads. All extremely affordable, by the way, ranging from $6.00-$11.00.
The first crepe I tried was called France (seems appropriate), a sweet crepe with Nutella, fresh bananas & strawberries, topped with whipped cream. Gluten free options are also available, which made me feel like I wasn’t completely cheating on my recent healthy lifestyle change. Now, I don’t know about you, but whenever I brunch, I always need a mix of savory & sweet. I also had to try the Mediterranean crepe, which consisted of hummus, roasted red pepper, spinach, feta, red pepper sauce, & a basil topping. It was incredible & so pleasing for my poor, deprived tastebuds.
I would definitely recommend Brown Butter to anyone looking for a different twist on brunch, someone to cater your event, or a nice place to grab a cup of coffee while exploring Eastown! I can’t wait to go back!
