Snooze- Denver, CO

I arrived in Denver last Wednesday morning, & naturally, we had to stop for brunch before anything else.

Snooze was founded by two brothers back in 2006 in Denver, Colorado. This vibrant, retro styled restaurant creates mouthwatering twists on typical breakfast choices. Now, Snooze immediately won me over when our server, Mark (who, by the way, represents the epitome of customer service. Thanks, Mark!), brought Cody & I mimosas filled to the brim in pilsner glasses. Seriously, every mimosa should be served this way.

I always seem to gravitate towards eggs benedict, so I was looking over the menu wanting to try something new. However, I kept going back to the “Benny Goodman”; Lox style salmon, cream cheese, served over toasted rye & topped with cage free eggs, cream cheese hollandaise, & sun dried tomato & caper relish, & served with house made hash browns. Holy Hannah, it was to die for. The best twist on an eggs benedict I have ever had.

Cody ordered the “Sandwich I am”; a soft pretzel roll filled with scrambled cage free eggs, cheddar cheese & a sausage patty, served with a side of smoked cheddar hollandaise. Cody is hard to please when it comes to brunch food, & he barely talked to me while devouring, so I think that’s saying something.

We also decided to share a Pineapple Upside Down Pancake, which I had been dreaming of ever since Cody mentioned it to me weeks ago. A buttermilk pancake with carmelized pineapple chunks, housemade vanilla crème anglaise, & cinnamon butter. As obsessed as I am with anything pineapple, I definitely could have used more of that flavor in the pancake, but the crème anglaise & cinnamon butter made up for it.

Snooze has several locations in Colorado, California, Arizona, & Texas. One percent of sales from each Snooze gives back to the local community, & they are also very involved, such as passing out pancakes, maintaining school gardens, volunteering at food banks & cleaning up beaches. They definitely live up to their mantra “it only takes a moment to make a difference”.

If you are ever in any of these areas, you must try Snooze. Do your part to make a difference, one pancake at a time.

xx,
